34th and Rain

Finding myself at 34th and 1st Ave late night Thursday, rain pouring like an open faucet, the thing I clearly must do is take out my camera and proceed to endanger it with water damage. Juggling the camera and umbrella on every shot, trying to keep very very still for long exposures, all while keeping the rain off the camera, is very hard to do, and a bit stressful.

So why do I do it instead of going straight home? Because, ultimately, it helps calm me down. I get so involved in the photography that I forget all else. And when I finally do remember it, I'm not as wound up as I was before. And I was a little wound up.

In any case, I thought a little photowalk of 34th street would be in order, as the elephants won't be by for a little while longer.
